Antibes to Bastia

Day 1:Guests arrive onboard in Antibes.  Departing the port of Antibes on the south coast of France, we spend the afternoon cruising across the Ligurian Sea to Corsica.  Dinner whilst underway with no land in sight is a unique experience!  Salu arrives late night off the town of Calvi, located on the northwestern corner of Corsica.  We anchor in the bay overnight within view of the citadel.

Day 2: Arise at your leisure. You may like to take the opportunity for an early morning swim before breakfast.  After breakfast we have a two-hour cruise down the coast to the bay of Girolata. Wooded hills and red mountains surround this stunning bay. We spend the day here, giving ample time to enjoy the water and scenery.  In the afternoon Salu returns to Calvi where we enter the port for the night.  Once in port take the chance to look around the old town and her many little stores or enjoy watching the sunset across the bay with a glass of wine in one of the bars by the port.

Day 3: After breakfast and a walk around the town we depart Calvi and begin our cruise north.  An hour of cruising brings us to Algajola Plage, a beautiful little beach, where we will anchor for the day.  Around 4pm we depart the anchorage and cruise north to the town of Ilse Rousse.  We anchor off this tiny village over night. A small restaurant ashore is an option if guests would like to dine onshore.

Day 4: A midmorning departure and a two-hour cruise northward to the Plage of Seleccia, one of the longest stretches of sand along this coast.  Salu anchors off this beach during the day and in the early afternoon motors a further hour to our destination of St Florent, where we enter port and moor ‘stern to’ the quay overnight.  This bustling little township is regarded as the ‘St Tropez of Corsica’ and definitely worth a look around.  It is filled with bars, cafes and restaurants, which stay open well into the early hours of the morning.

Day 5:After guests have had their fill of town life, Salu departs port and heads to the Plage of Lotu for early afternoon.  Mid-afternoon we depart the anchorage and cruise around the most northerly tip of Corsica.  This coastline is worn by the savage storms, which lash against it from all points of the compass during winter.  It is a virtually uninhabited area of Corsica and gifted with stunning scenery.  We arrive around sunset in the bay of Maginaggio where we will anchor off the town overnight.

Day 6: Early morning departure from the anchorage for a two-hour cruise out to the Italian island of Cap Aria.  This small island receives many day visitors during summer, most of whom arrive by private boat from Italy to swim and sun bathe away from the crowds.  Here we anchor in the crystal clear waters for the day off the township or in a bay.  In the evening we cruise back to Corsica and anchor off Bastia overnight, ready for guest departure early the following morning.

Day 7: Guests depart from Bastia.
